Something I love to do in January is get dates on the calendar for things I desire to manifest in the coming year, especially fun weekend getaways and trips with my girlfriends and other things of this nature.
With so many schedules to juggle, nailing down dates in January really helps ensure these things happen!

The backstory:
I’ve had a couple bottles of fancy champagne I’ve been saving for an intentional moment, for over a year.
I knew I wanted to share them with a handful of my closest friends, but I didn’t have a full vision for how I wanted that to look until my mom and I were browsing through an antique store a few weeks ago and I landed on this picture that inspired a fuller vision!
When I saw the picture, inspiration started to flow around how I’d like the party to look and feel.

I decided to carry last year’s word of the year – Elevate – into 2024 since I didn’t really hit my stride with elevating my personal style until a few months ago. Plus, it’s a great word to apply to all areas of life, year after year.
That’s how I found myself wearing my “hot pants” to the coffee shop on a Sunday, with no other plans to go anywhere else!For a long time, I just threw on jeans, a shirt and black canvas shoes in the winter and flip flops in the summer to head to the coffee shop (and makeup…I’m an everyday makeup girlie, always have been). I looked nice but I wasn’t very accessorized or styled. I wasn’t elevated. There’s nothing wrong with this. It worked for me for years and years without thinking twice about it. But last year I decided I wanted to play around with stepping it up a bit. And so I have. Soul Alignment
In 2006, I went to Costa Rica for a couple months to study Spanish and explore the country.
Life immediately slowed down and I loved it.
I thought, “this fits me”.
I’d been working a corporate job that felt the opposite of this.
I didn’t know it at the time, but I was relating to my soul energy without feeling the pressure of societal conditioning that presumes we can’t slow down and be okay or good enough.My life has been designed around the slower pace ever since.
I don’t resonate with the hustle and bustle…the constant rush, stress, overwhelm etc. I’ve never felt driven by the fear of not doing enough, not grinding or hustling enough to be enough (which is also why I’ve never experienced burn out).
Anytime I’ve bumped up against this energy, it’s always felt like something I wanted to avoid getting entangled with (this is my soul navigating me into my particular alignment).But so many people are caught in the belief that they must grind, hustle…Do More…to feel good, worthy, enough, deserving, etc.
And they’re burning out.
Being run by fear…
…fear of time running out…
…fear of not …
When Inspiration Hits, Follow It!
I did something this past weekend that I never knew I desired to do until the idea presented itself!
Let’s backup…
Going into the new year I held an intention to use imagery that better captures and conveys the energy I desire to put into the world through who I am as well as the things I write about…I wanted my online presence to be vibier!
This also happened to coincide with a newfound love for Freebird boots.
(I had stumbled into one of their stores in December and walked out with two pair for me and two pair for my mom)!
Something about these boots spoke to my soul. I don’t know why, I just know they did.
Feeling the fun, fresh energy of the New Year, an inspired idea hit me:
A photoshoot in a style centered around the boots, with the intention to capture energy that translated through the images!
My initial idea was to do the shoot in a cool, local spot.
But God had a better idea!
In the span of less than a week the idea morphed into something I couldn’t have imagined…
