You Matter A Lot

A friendly reminder to tap back into in case you’ve forgotten…You’re a BAD ASS Soul, whether others recognize this or not.

You may come across as unassuming to the outside world.

It doesn’t matter because, internally, You know what’s up…

You know you’re here on purpose, connected to a mission greater than yourself, meant to serve the whole. You know you’re here to do your part, play your role; however that may look.

You know this role matters. You playing your part matters.

It matters to those who are meant to benefit from  you simply BEING YOU.

This is You shining your light.

This is YOU giving others permission to do the same thing, in their own unique way.

This is YOU leaving your MARK.

This is YOU making the difference you came here to make.

This is YOU being THE LIGHT.

That’s why YOU’RE HERE.

This IS the Context in which you’re living your life.

This your reminder NOT to forget that You. Matter. A Lot.

There’s Something About New Beginnings…

The energy of renewal is in the air, whether it’s renewing what’s already in place and working by double downing on these values, intentions, commitments and goals or…

…beginning again with fresh intentions and commitments to the desires of your heart.

For me, the commitment to being loving no matter what arises is one I’ve carried with me ever since beginning my deeper spiritual journey 12 years ago.

I’m dedicated to this, which means I’m willing to look at where I’m out of alignment with love and I’m willing to do the necessary inner work to process, release and shift whatever takes me out of alignment.

The ultimate goal/intention is to live from this state without interval.

Close family members will tell you I’m not there, lol.

But it’s not about being “there” until you’re there.

The in-between is the human journey of commitment to the intention.

It’s being able to reconcile the desire to be “there” without judging the journey.

This reconciliation goes with any desire you have.

It’s the ability to be present where you are while simultaneously holding a desire for a vision that’s other than where …

Listen To The Things That Speak To You

Years ago I remember putting together a vision board that included a picture of some actresses attending a luncheon to raise money for a good cause.

For me the picture was indicative of my desire to be connected to doing good in the world.

I didn’t know if it would look like a luncheon, a gala or being “in the field volunteering on the ground”; I just knew I wanted to be apart things that made a difference.

Over the past decade and half it’s looked like all of the above…volunteering in Guatemala for part of 2007 and most of 2010, making an annual trip to Panama from 2011-2020 to work with my friend’s non-profit, Sowing Seeds of Love, being apart of fundraising events hosted locally through SoLive and, most recently, attending Ferrari Kids10th Annual Gala.

From working all day in a community with no running in Guatemala to getting glammed up for this gala, this early resonance with wanting to be connected to doing good in the world has taken shape.

I cut a picture out of a magazine 16 years ago because it resonated. Something …

Recap from Backpacking in Yellowstone!

September 6, 2022
Follow Your Heart

Back in January a passing thought occurred to me: “I wonder if I’ll ever backpack again. Do I want to backpack again?”.

It had been more than a decade since I’d taken on such an adventure.

I thought to myself, “If I do this, it has to be with a guide because I don’t have the expertise to do this without someone who has the necessary skills.”

(My past experience was with a group a friends, where my friend Jim had the backcountry experience, skills and knowledge).

Facebook read my mind and put an ad in my newsfeed for a company that runs tours in Yellowstone that I ended up booking my trip with. (It’s eerie how Facebook does that because I don’t think I said anything about this out loud).

Ever since I was a kid I’d built up Yellowstone in my head as a place that was so wild and rugged, just stepping outside your car could include a wildlife encounter with predators like bears (not that other parks don’t have these things, but this is just what I’d specifically built up in my head with Yellowstone from an …
