Love + Shifting out of Ego and Into Spirit

I am so excited to announce the release of my book, A Call to the Heart: Shifting out of Ego into Spirit!  It has been a labor of love for the past year and half.  Every since the writing process began, I have been holding an intention to serve through the sharing of this book.  This blog is also an extension of that intention.  I hope that in sharing my journey out loud, I am able to help draw others onto their own truth.  For me, a spiritual awakening is about moving from a fear-based mindset (ego) to a love-based mindset (spirit).  It is about recognizing the choice for each mindset, such that our moment-to-moment decisions become conscious choices in aligning with love instead of fear.  With time, the consistent application of choices that align with spirit (or love) create a significant shift in our perspective.  We begin to experience an influx of the higher energies of spirit in the form of love, compassion, and kindness.  This becomes possible as we work to dislodge “stuck energy” that has built up over time through a lack of forgiveness of self and others.

As we more readily reach for forgiveness in all of our relationships and encounters with others, love is allowed to flow.  As we loosen our faith in separation by reexamining our beliefs, attitudes, and actions through a lens of spirit instead of ego, love is allowed to flow.  As we begin to recognize our wholeness through spirit/God, love is allowed to flow.  As we seek to understand instead of to be understood, compassion emerges.  All of these internal shifts result in our expanded capacity to love.

In A Call to the Heart, I chronicle my personal journey to begin aligning with love.  I dissect the moments, events, and situations that led to specific spiritual insights or “aha” moments.  Each of which, expanded my capacity to love.

I hope that in sharing my spiritual awakening (or journey to align with love) out loud that I am able to serve others by making their journey more accessible.  A spiritual awakening can be as simple as choosing to look at our everyday, ordinary experiences through a new lens.  That has been my process.  I became extremely aware of how and when my ego was driving my thoughts, attitudes, and behaviors.  This became evident when I set aligning with spirit (or love) as my goal.  Before that goal was in place, I was unconsciously being run by my ego in many areas of my life.  This goal brought to light those areas, such that they could be worked through in a manner that aligned me with love.  The book captures many of these moments and experiences.

A spiritual awakening begins to occur when we choose to see the areas in ourselves where we find it most difficult to express love as “our assignments”.  When we choose to align with spirit (or love), we show our willingness to show up for these assignments.  We commit to choosing differently than we have in the past.  We commit to surrendering our old mindset to a power greater than ourselves, such that it is transformed to one that aligns with love.  We commit to allowing ourselves to being spiritually healed.  In doing so, we position ourselves to help others do the same.  That is what I am trying to do through the book, the blog, and any other things that I share in the future.

Aligning with love doesn’t necessarily happen overnight (though it can and has for some).  Aside from one significant two-week period of intense change, my journey falls into the category of “slow and steady” (versus a radical shift overnight).  The good thing is that “slow and steady” works!  The accumulation of each of the shifts that I shared in the book, as well as the shifts that I have continued to share through the blog, has led to a HUGE influx of the higher energies of spirit (e.g., peace, love, joy, kindness, compassion, forgiveness, gentleness, acceptance, allowance, tolerance, etc.).  It is my hope and intention in sharingA Call to the Heart, as well as these weekly blogs, that each of you begin experiencing this shift from ego (or fear) to spirit (or love), in your perspective.

The Divine lives within each of us as love—I just want to help others realize this truth within, such that we all begin living from this space.

It is my great honor to share A Call to the Heart with all of you.  It is available at Amazon and online at Barnes & Noble.  For those who are interested in purchasing a signed copy, I will be hosting a local (San Antonio) book signing this Saturday, March 2nd at Olmos Perk Coffee Bar between 9:30am & 11:30am.

Below is a short video where I give background on how the book came about as well as an overview of the book and my intentions for it.

With love,

Shanna
