Anchoring in True Abundance

Shifting out of Ego and Into Spirit

We all desire abundance in some form or another, but have we questioned what it is we’re really desiring to attain from a sense of abundance and, once we’re clear on that, whether or not we’re going about attaining it in the best way?

Often what we truly desire is a sense of psychological security versus the thing itself. When this happens, we mistake “having the thing” as true psychological security.

However, true psychological security (or an inner state of abundance), can only be known when “having or not having the thing” no longer has a bearing on our sense of security.

It’s when we shift from needing something outside of ourselves to feel secure to feeling secure with or without it that a true state of inner abundance (or psychological security) is achieved. When this happens, the mysterious life force of energy is allowed to flow to and through us.

True creative expansion becomes possible because we’re now co-creating with the life force of energy, instead of trying to grab or cling to it as something that personally fulfills us…it’s allowed to move through us in an unrestricted manner.

If we choose to set an intention, we do so from a place a wholeness (versus lack), which also allows the energy to move more freely.

Again, the moment we realize we no longer need things to show up in a specific way, the energy has room to breathe and flow.

When we master not needing more of something to feel abundant (because we’re inwardly abundant), this inner state of abundance has an opportunity to reveal itself in our outer experience. Prior to this, there’s an inner conflict between what we want to draw to us (more outer abundance) and how we see ourselves (in lack since we need something more to feel abundant). And that’s reflected back to us.

In realizing we’re inwardly abundant (through the conscious recognition of our psychological wholeness and security), the ultimate paradox occurs: it no longer matters if abundance is reflected in our external world.

And when this no longer matters, the mysterious energy of life is free to flow however it desires and it always desires to expand.

We just have to learn to get out of its way…

The goal is to find that sweet spot where the mysterious energy of life is allowed to flow to and through us without us attaching to needing it to feed any personal aspect of ourselves. Ego can’t desire something to occur out of “needing” it to achieve a sense of security. This would be desiring from an inner place of lack.

There must be a complete detachment regarding how and where this energy of abundance shows up in our life; otherwise we’re personally dependent on it in some way, which is a clear indication that we’re operating from a sense of lack.

The degree to which we attach to how this energy flows through us is indicative of where ego is at play in our conscious awareness…

The more we personally “need” some outer form of abundance to feel secure or psychologically whole, the more restricted this flow is; whereas the less we personally “need” some outer form of abundance to feel secure or psychologically whole, the less restricted this flow of energy is.

One way to begin making this shift is by learning to live simply by being content with less. This shifts our identification from the movement of ego (needing more to feel fulfilled and secure) to that of spirit (feeling fulfilled and secure with whatever we have, regardless of if it disappears the next day).

However, we must remember that living simply is only a tool to shift our attention from using outer measures as a barometer for abundance to relying on an inner sense of freedom to know abundance. It’s not meant to inadvertently shut down the flow of abundance. As a general rule of thumb, less is more until more is no longer “needed”. Then, only more exists.

Once we’re living from an inner state of wholeness (i.e., we’re neither caught in ego’s momentum nor susceptible to being caught in it in the future), the way in which outer abundance shows up in our life has no bearing on how we feel about ourselves. It can be here today and gone tomorrow without impacting our sense of self…this is true freedom, which is what we were initially seeking through our desire for outer abundance.

The inner journey is full of paradoxes like this one because it’s a constant shift in perception from ego’s thought system to one based in spirit (or psychological wholeness), where ego’s thought system represents all that we mistakenly hold as truth and spirit represents truth.

As we welcome the shifts in perception that these paradoxes reveal, we open more and more to the truth that sets us free.

To the inner abundance that sets us free,

Shanna
