Don’t Suppress Your Desire (learn to purify it)
Some people can solve a rubiks cube in their head (rare but possible).
Most need to hold it in their hands and experientially work with it to figure it out.
This is rather symbolic of our respective spiritual journeys.
Most need experience to catalyze growth.
It’s not required but it’s the most likely way growth occurs for the majority of us.
It’s why desire is so effective at moving someone into the cycle of spiritual growth.
It puts us in the pursuit of something that requires us to be different than we were when we began.
Desire for a different reality (whatever form that takes) motivates us to move through any stuck energy, thoughts and/or beliefs that do not serve us in moving towards that which we desire.
Without the desire for something different we often stay stagnant.
We’re never pushed to the edge of our perceived limits (or identifications) so we operate within a safe comfortable box, never challenging the parameters of our experience.
But what about Buddha’s famous quote “desire is the root of suffering”? Where does that come into play?
