We’re Here To Expand

When you know yourself to be a good hearted person, you can trust your desires, knowing they are a safe internal guidance system. – Amanda Frances

This seems like a no brainer, yet it’s one of the things that tripped me up last year.

My intention is to act from an undistorted energy of love and the litmus test I use to determine this is whether or not I’m at peace with or without the thing I desire.

Since the bigger things I desired were not coming into fruition I made being at peace without them my goal.

I created a black and white scenario where I was either clear of creating out of a distorted energy or I wasn’t. And if I wasn’t 100% certain I was clear of the need to feel fulfilled by the desire, I shouldn’t create. Because if I did, that meant I was agreeing to play with fire (i.e., ego). I thought this was the smart move.

Fortunately, this was brought to light through Bentinho Massaro’s teachings where he states that ‘one of the most arrogant things we can do is to be afraid of our own arrogance’. My attempt to avoid the pitfalls of ego was actually the most arrogant thing I could do since it was out of a fear of my own arrogance.

Here’s the problem with attempting to avoid the pitfalls of ego:

1.) life may appear to be safer, but inside, we’re dying a slow death from boredom and stagnation.

2.) the attempt to avoid these pitfalls actually halts our healing since we’re avoiding the exact experiences needed to flush ego to the surface so it can be healed.

The big takeaways…

We’re here to expand, not to shrink…so avoidance simply is not a viable option.

And there’s no better way to expand than to whole-heartedly commit to following the desires of our heart (knowing that the journey will be chalk-full of necessary lessons for expansion). Fearing our own arrogance does not serve us.

Instead, we can choose to trust that we can handle and face whatever comes up as a further integration of love and wisdom into our being.

From this space, we can whole-heartedly trust that our desires are a safe internal guidance system, as everything is constantly conspiring for our highest-good.

Always Shine Brightly,

Shanna
