Allow the Desire to Awaken to Flow through You

Shifting out of Ego and Into Spirit

When you consciously decide to awaken (choose to know and demonstrate only love), know that your decision has been heard and the entire Universe is conspiring to bring you home.

However, do not expect this ride back home to be smooth and without frustration or conflict (unless, of course, you’ve fully mastered what it means to be home).

Like the proverbial sand in the oyster that creates the pearl, your experiences are now used to grate against all that needs to be worked through for the truth of your being, in all of its radiant beauty, to be revealed.

This grating process is never fun, but it is necessary to bring us home.

For me, the hardest part of this process is not freaking out when more frustration arises (and it will, since the purpose of the “grating process” is to flush up and let go of all that prevents us from being awake).

A lot of times we fail to realize that this additional frustration is actually a function of us moving forward (since we’ve decided to take on and work through more of our unconscious nature) and, instead, we think it’s indicative of us regressing, in our journey.

When this happens, we judge our original frustration by becoming MORE frustrated (I know this all too well).

This is what happens when we judge what comes up in our emotional experience…we react against our original reaction, which only serves to further exacerbate the problem of reactivity.

The only way to break this cycle of reactivity is to embrace all that arises in our emotional field. I realize that it sounds counter-intuitive to accept frustration, anger, guilt, etc. when the goal is to be in a state where these emotions do not arise, however, if we do not allow these emotions to arise, we will remain in judgment of them when they inevitably arise.

It’s our judgment of them that is keeping the cycle of reactivity alive in our awareness. And, if in our decision to awaken, we are afraid to experience negative emotions, this fear will inadvertently put a kink in our deeper desire to awaken.

How can that deeper desire to awaken flow through us if we’re in fear of what could arise during the process? It can’t, which is why we must learn to be open to all that arises and to trust that these exact experiences are leading us home, per our request to awaken.

As I’ve shared many times before “we cannot transform what we do not first accept” (The Way of Mastery). Acceptance breaks the cycle of reactivity and allows a process of transformation to begin.

These negative emotions have to be allowed to surface so that we can begin to work through them (otherwise they’re simply pushed back down into our hidden unconscious nature). When we allow them to be brought into our awareness, we have an opportunity to hand them over to a power greater than ourselves, asking that whatever is causing us to feel this way be healed.

The entire healing process is a divine play of bringing all that is unconscious to our attention for the express purpose of healing. When we trust in this, we’re able to release our fears surrounding the healing process, such that the process can continue in a productive manner.

The pathway of awakening is a process in which we learn to let go of every reaction that our ego-mind has, such that all aspects of our unhealed nature are healed.

This journey will ultimately lead us to a state where everything passes through our awareness like a passing cloud…there will be no reaction to it (whatever “it” happens to be) since there will be no judgment of it or attachment to it.

When this happens, we’ll each be serving as some of the greatest conduits of love…our ultimate purpose for awakening.

So honor your desire to awaken by being willing to embrace all that arises in your emotional field, knowing that it’s leading to your ultimate destination of being love in form (i.e., home).

To coming home,

Shanna
