Two Processes For Dealing With Doubt
Doubt is normal. We all experience it. But there’s no need to linger in it.
Doubt is NOT A PERMANENT CONCLUSION about who you are or what you’re capable of creating, being or doing, nor is it a limit on what’s possible for you.
It’s simply an indication of some unaddressed lack in your energy and belief system that needs to be resolved.
We tend to quit pursuing our desires when we conclude our doubt, disbelief and/or unworthiness is right, but if we hold tight to the belief that these thoughts are simply arising as unaddressed lack, we always have something to work with and shift.
The most direct path to resolving doubt is to challenge these thoughts from a perspective of ultimate truth.
This is an advanced process but if it makes sense to you and resonates, it can help you move through and shift doubt quickly…
As each thought arises, ask yourself “Is this an ultimate truth about me?”.
“If I am already whole, complete and worthy as I am, is this thought an ultimate truth about me?”
This particular process assumes you already know and deeply believe in your wholeness, but have momentarily forgotten this truth.
It serves as quick reminder to re-gather and center the energy that has become temporarily scattered through your doubtful thoughts back into a state of wholeness or belief in yourself and your ability pursue whatever desire you’re holding for yourself.
This is you regaining control over your scattered energy by harnessing it through intentionality, will and focus from a place that knows you are innately worthy as you are and therefore worthy of pursuing the thing you desire.
It’s a direct re-positioning of your energy. It’s immediate and effective, making it the most direct way to deal with doubt.
If you’re not yet convinced of your own wholeness, worthiness/deservingness or do not have the ability to immediately access confidence and faith in your ability to pursue what it is you desire by piercing through the false nature of these thoughts with the above questions…
…another approach to recollecting your scattered energy occurs through a willingness to see these doubtful thoughts differently.
This approach bridges where you are (believing in your doubtful thoughts) to believing in your own wholeness, worthiness/deservingness and faith and confidence in your ability to pursue the desires of your heart.
Instead of operating as a reminder of your wholeness it serves as a path to knowing your wholeness.
This process creates a space between your doubtful thoughts and your ultimate truth (wholeness/worthiness) by simply asking you to be open and willing to see yourself in a new way.
It’s pretty genius in it’s ability to take you from fully believing in your doubt to simply being willing to believe something new about yourself by being open to it.
It’s also worth noting that when you truly desire what you say you desire, your willingness to see in a new, more supportive way increases.
This approach is as simple as stating through prayer or journaling:
“God, I’m willing to see this differently. Help me shift my perspective on this thought (insert thought and surrounding details). I’m ready and willing to move through this. I’m willing to show up and do my part. How would you have me see
this differently?”
Even if a clear shift in your energy does not immediately come, trust that it will.
Stay open to seeing through these false thoughts.
Know, trust and expect something new to be revealed to you.
As you become more accustomed to this process you can come from a place that’s less and less tolerant of doubt, meaning your energy can swiftly cut through these thoughts by bringing yourself back to centering in who you know and believe yourself to be (a person who is innately whole, complete and worthy of their desires).
You’ll catch the doubt spiral earlier and earlier and quickly realign to faith and confidence in your desires
In choosing to come back and share here on the blog and on social media, I’ve had a lot of funky thoughts come up (some weird ones that I never had in the past) that I’ve had to apply these processes to.
A lot of non-sense has been flushed to the surface in choosing to show up in this vein again. I’m not sure why that’s been the case, but I do know when I apply these processes (I usually use the first process) to them, they lose their power and I’m able to regain my will to intentionally direct my energy.
I hope these processes serve you in a similar manner, because you’re truly here to live from your heart in a state that knows you are whole, worthy and fully capable of pursuing the things that matter to you.
Always Shine Brightly,
Shanna
