Don’t Suppress Your Desire (learn to purify it)
Some people can solve a rubiks cube in their head (rare but possible).
Most need to hold it in their hands and experientially work with it to figure it out.
This is rather symbolic of our respective spiritual journeys.
Most need experience to catalyze growth.
It’s not required but it’s the most likely way growth occurs for the majority of us.
It’s why desire is so effective at moving someone into the cycle of spiritual growth.
It puts us in the pursuit of something that requires us to be different than we were when we began.
Desire for a different reality (whatever form that takes) motivates us to move through any stuck energy, thoughts and/or beliefs that do not serve us in moving towards that which we desire.
Without the desire for something different we often stay stagnant.
We’re never pushed to the edge of our perceived limits (or identifications) so we operate within a safe comfortable box, never challenging the parameters of our experience.
But what about Buddha’s famous quote “desire is the root of suffering”? Where does that come into play?
This is ultimately true. But, for most, it can’t be directly known until a growth cycle is ignited.
Desire creates the growth cycle that challenges all aspects of where your desire is rooted.
Are you coming from fear or love, lack or abundance, an emotional/psychological insecurity or a pure expression from inner overflow?
Your journey will root out and purify this. (This is the treasure of your journey).
And if we push into our growth journey deep enough, we’ll come to see through the paradigm of personal desire and drop into unconditional love, where desire is no longer personal. Instead, it’s a continuous flow of infinite intelligence, responding to each moment in the highest, most purified manner.
But like solving the rubiks cube, hands on experience is often needed before this is directly known, purified and activated (or allowed to flow).
So to truly know the meaning of what Buddha said, the pursuit and questioning of desire is often necessary.
Before this it’s often just an idea. An idea some people use not to pursue anything.
But that doesn’t really work either, especially if you’re suppressing desire without trying to understand it.
You’re still trapped in limitation and frustration (and the judgment of your desire).
You’re tangled up in your conflicting thoughts and ideas about desire: “I want this, but I shouldn’t want it.”
This conflict and confusion is a catalyst for purification by untangling and healing the fear, doubt, worry and lack that’s creating it.
You don’t solve the confusion by adopting an idea that says you shouldn’t be confused.
You don’t solve desire by adopting an idea that says you shouldn’t desire.
This is suppression.
You solve it by digging into both your desire (I want this) and the conflicting thoughts (but I can’t have it because of xyz) in order to understand the roots of both.
Ask Yourself:
Is my desire coming from fear or love, lack or abundance, an emotional/psychological insecurity or a pure expression from inner overflow?
If it’s coming from fear, lack or an emotional/psychological insecurity, you purify your desire by healing these things.
Then do the same for your conflicting thoughts…
Are they coming from fear or love, lack or abundance, an emotional/psychological insecurity or a pure expression from inner overflow?
If they’re coming from fear, lack or an emotional/psychological insecurity, you purify the conflicting thought by healing these things.
Once you understand where you’re coming from in both your desire and conflicting thought(s), you can align your desire with thoughts that support it.
This is a process of purification and when it comes to manifestation, it’s a needed step in directing your energy, attention and faith in one particular direction. I call this embracing miracle mindedness and offer coaching to support you in this. Message me if interested.
As I said, there are rare instances where the rubiks cube can be solved without ever touching it.
Two of the most influential teachers in my journey were able to do this. But they came into this world as advanced souls.
Most of us still need experiential growth.
So tap into your desire.
Let it ignite your soul journey.
And come out the other side more deeply rooted in love and wisdom.
And bonus, you’ll be spreading love and light as you go if you maintain your intention to purify where you’re coming from.
Always Shine Brightly,
Shanna
