How To Shift Into Faith When Fear Arises
When you have a desire in your heart and all the scary “what ifs” arise (as they will), you have to ask yourself if you value your desire over the fear that surrounds it.
And when you decide for your heart’s desires (as I hope you do!), you need to put a plan in place for handling your anxious thoughts.
Or you leave yourself open to abandon ship when things feel uncomfortable.
The best way to do this is to create affirmations that support the direction of your desires…or else the direction of your fear has ample room to take over.
Most people let the river of fear take over simply because they do not see another way.
But you can consciously build another way by choosing and activating a mindset that supports the new way of seeing…preferably before fear has a chance to set in.
Remember, you have the power to direct your mind.
You may not be accustomed to it (yet).
You may not be practiced at it (especially under the pressure of fear).
But you can be.
It’s like any other skill…
You learn the basics of it. (Write, read and believe in affirmations that support you, while also clearing out any fear, doubt and worry associated with your old mindset).
You apply it in non-stressful situations to build your skill by aligning with these affirmations/ways of seeing everyday (read and embrace them with the intention to embody them).
Then, you begin to perfect it under pressure by going back to your affirmations and process for clearing fear, doubt and worry when it arises…
Journal out your fear with the intention to clear, heal and shift back into the beliefs you desire to align with by creating a new story around what is occurring with a narrative that supports you.
If you’re already in a high pressure situation, you can still begin building the skill by doing all of the above.
Just know you’re doing it under pressure so it may feel more frustrating.
But if you stick with it, you’ll end up honing your skill at a much fast speed (your dedication will pay off).
And remember, the alternative is not ideal. It’s giving up by giving in.
Whatever it is that lives in your heart, it’s there for you to bring forth…not only to experience the great joy of bringing it forth but to become (or reveal) the person necessary to bring it forth.
